STOPPER FROM GLASHÜTTE

In its classical form detent from Glashütte is an elegant small part that provides the going-barrel with winding as well as blocks the energy output in counterbalance. A small blocking cone K is drawn through the screw stop into an elongated aperture; thus, when the release wheel S is wound, it is caught and can be drawn back into the blocking position while free running. This detail prevents the gear from maximum stress to avoid subsequent damage to the watch. In watchmaking such dislocation is called “the vibration of the watch”.
